Founder Focus Ep 8: Simone Joyce of Paypa Plane

The guest for this episode of Founder Focus is Simone Joyce, CEO and founder of Paypa Plane.

Paypa Plane helps banks realize value from the billions of dollars they spend maintaining their payment systems. They do this through smart payment agreement infrastructure that sits over the top of all their existing payment types to help customers have one experience.

They raised $10million in Series A funding in early 2023, and have an impressive cap table including Commonwealth Bank, Tyro and Mastercard. 

Simone describes what she calls a 'weird journey' to Paypa Plane that she could never have predicted. Like many founders, Simone overcame adversities prior to Paypa Plane, and you’ll hear her determination to do what’s right and to succeed come through. 

With her brother Jonathan, Simone was able to turn painful situation into an opportunity and Paypa Plane was born. 

Simone talks about working with family in business, boards, expanding into the US by relating herself and her family, and what she has learnt so far.
